Supporting the vision to become the largest MVNO in South East Asia

redOne, is a leading MVNO in Malaysia. With an established subscriber base of more than 1.2 million users in Malaysia alone, the company wants to build on this success and be the largest MVNO in South East Asia.

Operating with a philosophy of being completely transparent to customers, redOne strives to offer simplicity to drive growth. Whenever they can, redOne offer free calls or flat rates and offer their customers peace of mind that they’re getting the best deal. In order to provide a platform for growth redOne needed a Digital BSS suite that would enable them to build on their success in the Malaysian market and to scale their business to enter new markets. redOne selected a Digital BSS suite provided by Openet and their partners MDS Global. Openet will support MDS Global as it rolls out its VNOnDemand BSS-as-a-service solution for redONE. Openet will provide its real-time charging and policy control systems in this solution. In order to support redOne’s expansion plans the solution uses a pay-as-you-grow model to minimise new expenditure and reduce risk.  The solution manages monetisation, assurance and data-driven engagement.

Openet and MDS Global will help redONE implement its vision and expand its regional footprint to Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia and the Philippines.

“To get where we are today in Malaysia, we engineered a complex BSS system in-house. With our regional expansion and growing subscribers, however, we now require strong best-of-breed technology partners. By utilising MDS Global’s VNOnDemand solution, we can continue to take redONE on its journey to become the largest MVNO in the ASEAN region.”
Farid Yunus, Group CEO at redONE
