Wednesday, 21st July 2004; Openet Telecom, a world leader in real-time charging, convergent mediation and rating, today announced the selection of its rating solution, FusionWorks ActiveRate, by Dutch managed services provider TeleXis for use with one of its major European accounts.
TeleXis provides managed services to a European operator offering wholesale wireless MVNO services. TeleXis uses FusionWorks ActiveRate to extract MVNO subscriber usage records and send consolidated and rated records to the operator for subsequent billing. As well as recording usage and developing pricing information, FusionWorks ActiveRate will also support Revenue Assurance reporting and fraud management for this operator.
FusionWorks ActiveRate is a real-time, rules-based rating engine designed to address the challenges that next generation networks and value-added services bring in terms of speed, volume and complexity. Together with its partner management capabilities, FusionWorks ActiveRate enables network operators to cost-effectively manage business processes such as retail and wholesale rating with the ability to manage revenue sharing agreements with 3rd party content and commerce partners.
“We are delighted to announce this, the first sale of our new rating engine, FusionWorks ActiveRate. This deployment offers the full capability to upgrade to real-time rating when the need arises. This is a mission-critical capability when one considers latency requirements on top of the sheer volume of requests coming from next generation networks and the throughput figures being demanded by customers,” said John Rainger welcoming the announcement. “Network operators are increasingly becoming aware of the deficiencies of their legacy rating platforms while trying to roll out value-added services. With FusionWorks ActiveRate, Openet now offers best-in-class COTS convergent mediation, real-time charging and rating to network operators worldwide.”
“We are very pleased with the ease of deployment of FusionWorks ActiveRate. This solution offers our client the scalability and flexibility to future proof their existing and potential service offerings,” stated Maarten van Vliet, Principal Consultant, TeleXis b.v.. “We see Openet's solutions as a key element in our ability to offer real-time managed services to fast growing network operators,” he added.
Since its establishment, in 1999, TeleXis has been involved in a number of strategic telecoms projects in Europe and the Middle East. Building on the many years' and broad range of experience of the TeleXis team in live operating environments, TeleXis addresses its customers' requirements both within the telecoms environment and, more recently further afield.
