Openet wins Reading Lights Company of the Year Award

November 4, 2011 - Openet

DUBLIN, Ireland – November 4, 2010 –Openet, the most innovative provider of Subscriber Optimization Software to tier one communications and media service providers, has been named the winner of the Leading Lights Company of the Year Award (private) presented by Light Reading. Openet’s strong market traction in 2010, marked by its strength in policy management, was a major contributor to the Company’s selection for this award.

The Leading Lights Awards recognize the best companies and innovations in the telecom, mobile and cable industries over the past year. As the winner of the Company of the Year Award (Private), Openet is recognized as a privately held firm that stands out from its competitors, innovates constantly and achieves employee satisfaction.

Theaward winners were selected by Light Reading editors and Heavy Reading analysts, along with industry feedback, making this a collaborative award which recognizes Openet’s product innovations, growth and market traction in 2010.

“We're proud of all the Leading Lights finalists for standing out in the extremely competitive next-generation communications space,” says Light Reading Editor-in-Chief Phil Harvey. “We offer special congratulations to the select group of finalists that our editors felt were exceptional enough to take home one of Light Reading's Leading Lights awards.”

Along with key customer wins in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, South Africa and the Middle East in 2010, Openet has also announced strategic alliances with IBM and VPI Systems. Additionally, Openet has launched significant new solution and architecture offerings, including the Subscriber Data Management Architecture and the creation of its Business Intelligence and Analytics Practice, supported by partner Netezza. Furthermore, Openet released a new version of its award winning, fully compliant 3GPP PCRFPolicy Manager platform, and its new Profile Manager platform, both of which offer unprecedented network control to service providers.

Another notable achievement this year was Openet’s creation of a new category, Subscriber Optimization Software (SOS). This category unifies crucial interrelated markets that have previously been separate, despite their interdependence on one another. This move to provide integrated offerings to tier one communications and media service provider customers has marked a sea change in the industry.

“This prestigious recognition is very pleasing for us given the banner year we’ve had in terms of policy and charging market traction, customer deployments and innovative solutions,” said Openet CEO Niall Norton. “In 2010, the Company introduced groundbreaking solution sets like PCC, Cloud services and Subscriber Data Management, and became the charging backbone behind the Apple iPad for the device’s U.S. operator. Clearly, Openet is a prominent player across all of the markets in which we operate and this recognition from Light Reading validates that position.”
