Openet Telecom Selected by Makedonski Telekomunikacii for Convergent Mediation Deployment

Dublin, Ireland February 13th 2003, Openet Telecom, a world-leading provider of real-time charging and convergent mediation solutions, today announced that Makedonski Telekomunikacii (Macedonia Telecom), Macedonia's incumbent wireline operator and a subsidiary of Deutsche Telecom, has selected FusionWorks Mediation to support the convergent rollout of its voice and IP services to over 500,000 residential subscribers.
Makedonski Telekomunikacii is currently in the process of expanding its network to include IP services. In addition, their existing network has evolved over time to include a multi-vendor network with a complicated billing scenario. Billing information is currently received from multiple collection point protocols from a variety of legacy switches. This high-growth scenario has stretched Makedonski Telekomunikacii's in-house mediation solution to the point where they realised that it was time to invest in an outsourced convergent mediation solution.
