Openet to Hold Opening Ceremony for New Malaysia Office

DUBLIN, Ireland – July 30, 2009 – Openet, the leading provider of Transactional Intelligence for the world’s largest and most innovative network service providers, today announced the opening ceremony for its new Malaysia office, located in Kuala Lumpur.  The opening of the new, larger office will take place on August 4, 2009.  Openet CEO Niall Norton will officiate the opening and Eoin Duggan, First Secretary/Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of Ireland, Malaysia will also be in attendance.  Other guests will include regional Openet staff, customers and partners.

Announced in August 2008 as a hub for worldwide support and R&D, the Malaysia office first began recruitment for the facility in February 2008.  Since then, Openet has hired experienced employees including: 19 professional services engineers, eight product engineers, a client services engineer, a pre-sales manager and two administrative staffers to support the Company’s expanding operations.  Openet currently has a staff of 120 in Ireland and 340 globally including long-term contractors; the office in Malaysia is currently 41 employees and is expected to reach 50 by the end of 2009.

“As Openet continues its worldwide growth, it has become clear that our previous space was not large enough for our growing Malaysian staff,” said Niall Norton, CEO, Openet. “The talent Openet has found in Kuala Lumpur has made a major contribution to the Company’s growth and success in APAC.  With this new location, we will be able to continue our rapid expansion and further our R&D initiatives in the region.  We’d also like to extend thanks to Enterprise Ireland for supporting our initiatives here in Kuala Lumpur.”
