CEO Appointment at Openet Telecom

7 March, 2002; The Board of Openet Telecom, the world leader in convergent mediation, is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr John Rainger to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
John joins Openet from Lucent Technologies where he held the position of Chief Operating Officer of the Software Products Group based in New Jersey, USA. The Software Products Group has sales of $1bn and over 1,300 employees across the globe in the software billing and customer care segments.
"The combination of John's international experience and his in depth knowledge of the billing, customer care and mediation market place and its customers make him an exceptional leader to drive the next phase of Openet's development," said Declan Conway (Chairman, Openet Telecom).

Prior to his Lucent appointment John Rainger was VP for Europe, Middle East and Africa for Kenan Systems which he built up into a $160m business. Reporting to Kenan Sahin, John established, developed and managed all functional areas of the business, including sales, marketing, support, product development and was responsible for over 500 people based in offices in London, Paris, Munich and Madrid. As a member of Kenan's world-wide company executive team, he was also involved in shaping the overall company strategy and for its execution in Europe. From 1980-1995 John held numerous senior sales and marketing positions with Hewlett Packard focussed on the Telecommunications market.
John will be based in Dublin, Ireland at the company's headquarters.
