Murray Hill, NJ and Dublin, Ireland, June 28th, 2000 - Savera Systems and Openet Telecom-two leaders in the global telecom billing industry-today announced a joint strategic technology and marketing alliance that enables communications service providers to dramatically accelerate the pace at which new telecom and IP services are defined, priced and introduced.
Under the terms of the agreement, the companies will integrate Savera's 100% Web Based InterCarrier™ billing solution and Openet Telecom's FusionWorks™, an open-standards based, distributed mediation platform. In addition, the two companies will co-market each other's products and services in a variety of ways, including trade shows and customer referrals.
"By joining forces, Savera and Openet Telecom provide a proven, end-to-end solution for upcoming, next-generation telecom and IP carriers that features record-breaking time-to-market for implementation", said Inderpal Singh Mumick, president of Savera Systems. "We have architected our products to allow new entrants to deploy them quickly and grab market share".
"Openet Telecom is pleased to partner with Savera to deliver a turnkey solution for new entrants to the telecom market", said Stuart Kelly, vice president of sales and marketing, Openet Telecom. "Other companies might say they reduce time to market, but we're radically changing the landscape of billing technology by shaving months-not just days-off the implementation process".
Once implemented, the alliance's comprehensive solution boasts the ability to manage and rate services by value-based metrics and to manage partnerships and interconnect agreements for voice, data, content and value-added services.
"The package offered by Savera and Openet Telecom allows carriers to bill at greater levels of granularity at the interconnect levels that until now were impossible, and to correlate usage data from our convergent mediation device", explained Kelly. "Customers who choose our comprehensive, end-to-end solution find that our products have been tested and are proven to work together in a streamlined manner, resulting in significant bottom-line benefits. In addition, the combined solution yields a unified view of subscribers' usage patterns, and allows an interaction with those patterns to increase subscriber satisfaction and reduce churn".
