DUBLIN, Ireland and NORWALK, CT; 12th December 2002; Openet Telecom, a world leading provider of real-time charging and convergent mediation solutions, today announced it has received the 2002 Product of the Year award from Technology Marketing Corporation's Internet Telephony® Magazine.
"Openet Telecom's product is a clear leader in the IP telephony industry. We're proud to reward their hard work and innovation with a Product of the Year Award for 2002," said Rich Tehrani, president of TMC and group editor-in-chief of Internet Telephony®.
The award was granted to Openet for its product FusionWorks ActiveCharge, a real-time charging platform that enables network operators to deliver any service, over any packet-based network, to any subscriber and charge by any payment method in real-time, maximising revenue from advanced IP and content services. This dynamic solution processes service policy requests, as they occur from network elements, in order to verify subscribers and their ability to use a service, charge for the service in real-time and authorise or deny delivery as appropriate. By being able to deliver all services to all subscribers, operators can increase average revenue per user, maintain tighter financial control through reduced fraud and bad debt and improve customer profiling.
According to Internet Telephony® editorial director Greg Galitzine, "Openet Telecom deserved the honour of Product of the Year due to a proven commitment to producing quality products. The Product of the Year award is meant not only to honour the outstanding teams who developed and manufactured the products and services on our winning list, but also to educate our readers on the vast array of offerings in this market. Choosing the winners was a difficult process, and we spent many hours studying the applications we received from vendors, as well as looking through materials we collected on our own over the past year,"
"It is an honour to be recognised by Internet Telephony for the second consecutive year. Once again Openet has proven its market leadership by presenting innovative and award-winning solutions to the challenges facing network operators", commented Andrew Court, Marketing Director, Openet Telecom. "Our track record in winning business with Tier-1 operators around the world is proof that our technology and services deliver value time and again."
A full list of Product of the Year winners will appear in the January issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY® magazine.
