Openet Telecom Strengthens North American Focus with VP Appointment

Dublin, Ireland and Reston VA, 26 March 2003 - Openet Telecom, a world leader in real-time charging and convergent mediation, today announced the appointment of Richard Evans as VP North America, in a strategic move to penetrate key markets.
Evans joins Openet Telecom with an established track record in the telecommunications industry where he has negotiated multi-million dollar contracts with Tier-1 operators and built an extensive contact base with leading operators in Europe and North America.
His appointment further strengthens Openet's high-profile management team. Evans will focus on the North American region, where operators are exploring ways to recoup investments and fully exploit the potential of advanced services such as 2.5G, 3G, broadband IP and Wi-Fi (802.11 wireless LAN). Evans will be responsible for spearheading sales, developing strategic partnerships and broadening Openet's client base of leading operators.

His successful record includes increasing sales up to 370% from 1998 through 2000 at Portal Software, winning the company's first major multi-million dollar commercial clients.
Evans will be based at Openet's North American headquarters at Reston, VA.
