Openet Deploys 3GPP Platform for North American Operator

In light of the new 3GPP standards, Openet’s Congestion Management Solution (CMS) will act as an RCAF, providing the US operator with a 3GPP compliant mechanism for PCRF (Policy and Charging Rules Function) to receive RAN (radio access network) user plane congestion information via a new standards diameter NP interface. The operator integrated CMS within its existing infrastructure.

The US operator deployed Openet’s platform to help manage and reduce congestion across all networks for subscribers. CMS allows the operator to receive cell site congestion notifications from network probes, detecting those subscribers who are contributing most to cell site congestion.
