Alex was Founder and CEO of the Global Billing Association (GBA), a trade body focused on the communications sector. During the 10 years of the GBA as an independent association he guided it through times of enormous change, challenge and opportunity for the communications industry. He has actively provided a focus on the changing business models facing the industry, delivering thought leadership, insight and direction. Until it closed, he was Contributing Editor, OSS/BSS for Connected Planet. He is currently Publisher of DisruptiveViews, one of the most widely read online publications in the OSS/BSS space.
Alison has held various business development, sales and marketing roles within the telecoms sector and broader software industry. Prior to joining Openet as Business Development Manager with the Consulting organization, she was SMB Account Executive at Nitro. She holds an Honours Degree in Business and Sociology from Trinity College Dublin as well as a certificate of TMForum Digital Maturity Model Practitioner.
With over 16 years of Telecoms experience, including 5 years in Openet working as the Director of Product Management with particular expertise in the Billing and Charging. Prior to Openet, Andrew held senior technical positions in IBM where he was the lead architect in the Mediation, Provisioning and overall Billing domains .
As a Senior Marketing Manager at Openet, Brian is responsible for marketing insight and analyst relations. Prior to joining Openet, Brian worked as a consultant to a number of wireless and tech startups and was Head of Strategy at O2 Ireland.

I have 10 years’ experience at senior leadership level, leading marketing teams and working across matrix organisations with sales, service and technology functions to deliver market winning customer propositions.
David leads Openet’s Cloud Strategy in the Americas and has more than 25 years of experience collaborating with customers and building long-term relationships, resulting in architecting the optimal solutions and maximizing their value, across North America, Europe, Asia, Central and South America.
Derek Hosty leadsOpenet’s Actionable Data Solutions Business Unit. Joining from Telenor, Derek will manage the company’s solutions portfolio covering data management, analytics and artificial intelligence (AI). Derek previously held several senior positions as part of the strategy, product and sales teams
Frank has held various business development, sales and marketing roles with service providers and vendors in the telecoms sector. Prior to joining Openet as Product Marketing Manager he was responsible for developing wholesale payments and messaging business at Ericsson and Gemalto. He holds a Degree in Commerce and Masters of Business from University College Dublin.
As Director of Business Development and Partner Technologies, Gary Rieschick is responsible for development and management of Openet’s strategic partnerships. These partnerships provide operators with more extensive solution offerings utilizing technologies from multiple companies but from a single provider.
Gary has previously served as Openet's Director of Solutions Management, focused on utilizing Openet products to enable solutions such as Predictive RAN Congestion, Data Offloading, IN Evolution, Loyalty Programs, and many more. Gary brings over 13 years of experience in wireless telecommunications network design, planning and product management with eight years of Deep Packet Inspection and seven years of Policy Management experience. Gary holds a Bachelor of Science from DeVry Institute of Technology.
Joe Hogan is Openet's founder. He has served as Chief Technology Officer since the company was founded in 1999. Joe is the principal architect of Openet’s product portfolio and has over 25 years of software engineering experience. Joe is responsible for technology innovation at Openet with oversight over Openet’s CTO architecture office; Openet’s Intellectual Property office, which manages the creation of Openet's patents portfolio; and Openet Labs, a software research group based in Ireland and Malaysia from which new Openet products emerge.
Joe serves on the Openet Board of Directors as executive director along with CEO Niall Norton and is also a joint recipient, with Niall, of European Entrepreneur of the Year for 2012 and the Ernst and Young Irish Entrepreneur of the Year for 2011. Joe holds an advanced diploma in Computer Science from Dublin Institute of Technology and a B.Sc (Hons) in Computer Applications from Dublin City University.
Joe Villarreal is the Product Leader for Openet’s Assure Solution. Joe joined Openet after 37 years with AT&T where he held positions of Assistant Vice President of Revenue, Billing and Fraud Assurance for the company. Previous roles with AT&T included CFO of their International Operations, CFO of Cingular Interactive, Sarbanes Oxley and Merger Integration lead for Cingular and VP Finance of the Washington/Baltimore Region. Joe is a CPA and holds an MBA from Georgia Southern University and an BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas – San Antonio. Joe resides on Atlanta, Georgia.
John has been a member of the Openet team since 2009. John has over 20 years experience progressing from hands on engineering, through to various senior roles; Product Manager, Engineering Manager, Product Owner, Programme Manager, Bid Manager and Lead Network Architect.
As COO of Openet Jon co-ordinates many of the technical and business functions of Openet. Prior to being COO, Jon was GVP for Product and Solution Management in Openet. He has also held senior management postions in Vodafone Group.
Jonathan Plant is the Senior Marketing Manager in Openet where he develops and manages thought leadership content including white papers, webinars and blogs. He also manages the Openet website and events. Prior to Openet Jonathan held marketing management roles in Irish communications operator Eir.
Julia worked within the CEO Office on strategic and new vertical initiatives prior to moving to the Openet Marketing Group in 2014 – Dedicated to the conversion of technical solution use cases into business focused propositions across the full breath of Openet’s product portfolio. In 2017, Julia moved to Openet’s Data & Cloud Group to focus on the industry challenges around optimising data management practices and the evolution of Cloud principles across today’s networks in the realisation of competitive advantage for Openet’s clients.
Julia holds a Bachelor of Communications from Dublin City University and a Postgraduate in Management & Marketing from Dublin Institute of Technology.
Called to the Bar of Ireland in 2011 and practiced for four years before moving in –house. Serve as Openet’s in-house counsel providing advice and services with respect to legal, policy and regulatory matters with a particular focus on the software, cloud, telecommunications and technology industry.
Marc Price, CTO for the Americas, at Openet, has more than 20 years of experience working extensively with customers to define strategies and deploy world-class solutions for some of the largest North American and European service providers to achieve business success.
Marc has assisted with the strategy and execution for projects as diverse as the industry's first launch of self-provisioning and real-time pricing for the iPad and iPhone, the first TV Everywhere application for cable TV, and innovative big data initiatives for some of the world's leading service providers. He now is helping operators to plan for the launch of 5G services.
With 25 years’ experience in mobile communications software, Martin has worked in mobile billing software since the early days of the industry. In that time he’s spoken at over 50 telecoms conferences worldwide and had a similar number of articles published in the telecoms trade press and served on trade association and company boards. At Openet Martin is responsible for marketing thought leadership and market interaction.
Michael O'Sullivan joined Openet in 2003, and currently serves as our Global Vice President, Engineering since May 2013. Prior to this, Mr. O'Sullivan has served in a number of roles for Openet, including Executive Director of the Openet Labs research and development group, and Director of the systems engineering group.
Before joining Openet, Mr. O'Sullivan held a number of senior technical and management positions at Aldiscon, Logica, Aersoft and AOL. Mr O'Sullivan holds a B.Sc in Applied Computing with first class honours from Waterford Institute of Technology.
Monika Gupta is a Solution Consultant with 20 years’ experience in the telecoms industry. She has been responsible for designing and deploying IT solutions ranging from mediation, charging, policy to audit and revenue assurance across the globe. She is credited with architecting several innovative solutions in emerging devices and Internet of Things sectors and was instrumental in supporting LTE launch at a tier 1 service provider in the USA.
Niall Norton joined us in March 2004. Mr. Norton has served as our chief executive officer since September 2006 and has served on our Board since August 2006. Between 2004 and 2006, Mr. Norton served as our chief financial officer. Prior to joining us, he served as chief financial officer and corporate secretary of O2 Ireland, the Irish operations of O2 Group Telecommunications PLC, from 2001 to 2004. Mr. Norton holds a degree in Commerce from University College Dublin and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.
As Senior Product Manager, Niamh is responsible for creating Thought Leadership material. Niamh also leads the Customer Engagement Program and is responsible for Partner Marketing. Having started her career in London, Niamh spent 7 years working in numerous Marketing roles including PR, Product Marketing and Legal Marketing. Since returning to Ireland Niamh has nearly a decade of experience working within the Marketing departments of mobile operators - key focus on Base Management, Campaign Planning and Product Management. Niamh holds a Degree in Marketing from GMIT and a Masters in Marketing Management from University of Westminster.
Responsible for business and partner development as part of the Consulting and Strategic Alliances Team. Before joining Openet, Nicola worked at Vodafone Group, initially within the Roaming Services Team and ultimately within the VTV Team as part of the Unified Communications organization. The remainder of her 18 years’ telecoms experience was gained working at O2 Ireland as International Roaming Manager and as Sales Director within a number of vendor organizations. Nicola holds a Bachelor of Business Studies from DCU and is currently completing a Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law in London.
Paul is the GVP Sales and Services for Openet. He has worked at Openet for over 10 years is various sales roles before taking over sales and services worldwide in 2017.
Rita Mittal is a Lead Engineer with over 10 years of experience in telecom industry. She has been responsible for designing and deploying IT solutions ranging from subscriber management, policy, offline and online charging, rating, number portability. She is credited for leading time and revenue critical solutions. She was active contributor in AT&T hallmark project ’iPad Launch’ Session Based Pricing(SBP) for Apple, USA.
Responsible for strategic projects and initiatives in CEO Office. Before joining Openet she worked in IBM as Network Analytics SME in the Global GBS team and was responsible for thought leadership of IBM’s Advanced Analytic portfolio. Ms. Philpott gained the remainder of her 20 years of telecoms experience while working at O2 Ireland as Department Manager responsible for optimisation and capacity management of the mobile operator’s entire service portfolio, and previously as a design and engineering architect for Alcatel. A 2003 MBA graduate, Ms. Philpott is now responsible for managing strategic technical initiatives in her role within the CEO Office.
Sean Broderick has over 9 years’ experience in telecommunications across marketing and product management. Prior to joining Openet Sean worked in Irish telecom operators eir and UPC in marketing roles covering broadband, landline and mobile services.
As Senior Product Manager in Openet he is responsible for ensuring the success of two of Openet’s most innovative products: Real-time Offer Manager and Network Selection Intelligence.
Stephen is the Vice President of the Product and Solution Management group and is responsible for the evolution of all aspects of products, solutions and modules within the entire Openet BSS portfolio.
Tony is an Enterprise Architect with over 15 years’ experience architecting, designing and deploying Tier1 Mediation, Policy & OCS Solutions. Tony heads up the Global Technology Services team within Openet complementing our Professional Services teams with deep Consultative Expertise for our clients.
Tony Regan, is General Manager of Consulting and Strategic Alliances in Openet. Tony joined Openet from Telefonica where he had performed in various group roles for the past 14 years. His background includes over twenty years of experience in the design, delivery and management of large scale IT solutions for telecoms projects across the globe.
