Service Passes

We live in an increasingly mobile world. For many, the need to access email, favorite applications, internet, and corporate services from virtually anywhere is a requirement. However, not all subscribers want to commit to a long-term contract, or need access to all applications and content on the web.

Service passes allows service providers to purchase limited access to a service. Using the concept of a service pass, services providers can address under-served segments, encourage service adoption and generate new sources of revenue.

Service passes allow:

dotTransient users to pre-pay to secure limited access to a service; examples of the limits placed on services can include by duration, numbers of times used, or time of day restrictions

dotSubscribers to purchase access to an individual service or a limited sub-set of service e.g. as a recurring monthly charge to access their favorite application e.g. Facebook

dotFaster promotional creation, roll-out and retirements. Service passes can provide an effective and interesting approach to enable subscribers to easily try new services for a limited period

The Openet Service Pass solution provides real-time capabilities to enable a flexible, per-service charging approach. It provides authorization and session management functionality against subscriber balances, to manage limited access to a service or sub-set of services.
