FusionWorks FrameWork

The FusionWorks™ Framework is the foundation of all Openet products, delivering unsurpassed event and transaction processing performance at tier one carrier-grade scale combined with unlimited flexibility over system and service configuration.

The cornerstone of the FusionWorks™ Framework is two key components that form the backbone of all FusionWorks™ products:

  • The Correlation and Transaction Engine (CTE) – The CTE is a highly-tuned-multi-threaded rules engine – designed by engineers responsible for Unix kernel development – and is responsible for delivering the immense performance at scale common to all FusionWorks™ products.
  • The Business Rules Engine (BRE) – The BRE is a highly extensible business logic development and run-time environment, which is extensible to multiple products and enables those products to operate with virtually unlimited flexibility.

FusionWorks™ Products share a common set of capabilities delivered by the FusionWorks™ Framework in addition to the CTE and BRE. These include system configuration, user administration, security management, memory and database management, logging and reporting, system management, and load balancing. Moreover, the FusionWorks™ Framework enables solutions to be deployed as centralized, distributed, or hybrid architectures. In this way, Framework addresses the integration, administration, and regulatory requirements of the world’s largest and multi-national service providers.

Convergence and Integration

The FusionWorks™ Framework was developed with diverse networks and the need for convergence in mind. Rather than supporting solely circuit- or packet-based networks, the FusionWorks™ Framework is truly network convergent. It enables service providers to integrate the platform into multiple networks simultaneously, preserving investments in legacy infrastructure while deploying cutting-edge infrastructure to support new IP-based services. The FusionWorks™ Framework also includes interfaces to external applications such as customer databases, rating engines, and balance management systems.

Flexible Configuration

The FusionWorks™ Framework is the source of FusionWorks™ products’ ability to rapidly deploy any service on any network with any pricing plan or promotion—for both pre- and post-paid subscribers. Setting the industry standard for flexible configuration, it includes the Business Rule Engine that directs the processing of events and transactions. Easy-to-use interfaces enable you to self-manage the initial deployment and perform ongoing reconfiguration in support of new services, price plans, and promotions. Or your company can choose to outsource it to our Solution Delivery team. Either way, you can support your company’s business requirements today and well into the future.

Extensible Design

Service providers are rapidly evolving in response to competitive threats, market trends, and customer demands. With that evolution comes an ever-changing set of business challenges and requirements, many of which hinge on the ability to extract maximum value from network activity. Framework enables Openet to extend nearly any network-edge software solution that processes network activity and transactions.

Flexible Architecture

As the foundation of a modular platform, the FusionWorks™ Framework enables service providers to deploy across virtually any architecture—whether distributed, centralized, or hybrid. Points of administration and management can be located anywhere, no matter where the collection and processing of network activity and transactions occurs. This enables service providers—especially those operating globally—to support organizational and regulatory needs while still ensuring security and system availability and reliability.
