The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is a collaboration among a number of leading telecommunications standards bodies. It was formed to develop and maintain the Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) Technical Specifications and Technical Reports, including the evolution of technologies such as General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Enhanced Data rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE), and the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS). Openet is an active member of the 3GPP Charging Workgroup, which proposes and maintains standards for the evolution of offline and online charging and accounting across 3GPP next-generation networks.

Cable Television Laboratories, Inc. (CableLabs®), a non-profit research and development consortium, pursues new cable telecommunications technologies and helps its members integrate those advancements with their business objectives. Openet is involved with defining the accounting standards for PacketCable, a CableLabs-led initiative to develop interoperable interface specifications for delivering advanced, real-time multimedia services over two-way cable plant. Built on top of a highly successful cable modem infrastructure, PacketCable networks use Internet protocol (IP) technology to enable a wide range of multimedia services, such as IP telephony, multimedia conferencing, and interactive gaming.

National Cable and Telecommunications Association

The National Cable and Telecommunications Association, formerly the National Cable Television Association, is the principal trade association of the cable television industry in the United States. Founded in 1952, NCTA's primary mission is to provide its members with a strong national presence by providing a single, unified voice on issues affecting the cable and telecommunications industry.

NCTA represents cable operators serving more than 90 percent of the nation’s cable television households and more than 200 cable program networks, as well as equipment suppliers and providers of other services to the cable industry. The cable industry is the nation’s largest broadband provider of high speed Internet access after investing $100 billion over ten years to build a two-way interactive network with fiber optic technology. Cable companies also provide state-of-the-art digital telephone service to millions of American consumers.

NCTA also hosts the industry’s annual show, which serves as a national showcase for the cable industry's innovative services, including quality television programming, interactive television services, high-speed Internet access, and competitive local telephone service.

The SDP Alliance

The SDP Alliance is a collaboration of seven software vendors, each providing a best-of-breed component of a service delivery platform (SDP). The SDP Alliance brings together the most important elements of a SDP and offers them either as a integrated whole or in a subset of category-defining products. Openet Convergent Charging provides convergent charging in real-time to all of the services provided via the SDP architecture.

TeleManagement Forum

The TeleManagement Forum (TM Forum) provides leadership, strategic guidance, and practical solutions to improve the management and operation of information and communications services. Openet participates and advises on subjects including revenue assurance, which includes an investigation of how revenue leakage can best be managed and eliminated within the context of the existing TMF framework (NGOSS, eTOM, and SID). In particular the team emphasizes how to leverage New Generation Operations Systems and Software (NGOSS) to create a powerful process model to drive revenue assurance activities.
