OVERVIEW:
The Professional Services division is responsible for delivering client mediation solutions - built on Openet’s mediation product set - to customers. This will involve analysis of the customers’ business requirements and implementing a solution to meet these needs in Openet’s rules based platform. The solution will typically be implemented in a combination of DSD, a tcl type scripting language, Shell scripts and in C/C++.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The role of a Project Manager – Professional Services in Openet is to take responsibility for the entire development cycle, from customer requirements to delivery of professional services projects. The Project Manager must have the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently and to exemplary standards, have a very clear delivery focus and be adept at managing change. They must have a commercial awareness, credibility and energy to play a leading role in new business initiatives.
Some of the tasks involved are:
• Preparing and planning projects, and driving those plans through to a successful conclusion
• Interviewing and resourcing project teams
• Managing and tracking effort, cost, and progress
• Interfacing with Sales for new project requirements and commercial issues
• Interfacing with Customers on requirements definition and all aspects of project delivery
• Mentoring and review of engineers
• Interfacing with Product Group regarding product releases
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Taking responsibility for the planning and delivery of projects to the market place. This involves taking requirements from multiple sources, like customers and equipment vendors; plus planning, resourcing and delivering the resultant projects on time and to budget.
• Ability to plan, clearly monitor and report to Openet Telecom senior management plus Customers on project progress with respect to effort, cost and duration.
• Have excellent oral and written communication skills for effective dialogue with colleagues on a project team and superiors. Plus Peers in customer organization.
• Interface with the HR Manager in all areas of recruitment and HR
• Able to represent Openet Telecom at customer meetings, presentations and conferences
• Willingness to travel – often up to 50%

EDUCATION
Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience, and a minimum 8-10 years industry experience some of which must me in a Team Lead or Project Management role.
